Wide shallow bowl, Wedgwood 'Lily Tray' shape 2483. Bone china. Decorated with 'Fairyland' pattern Z5200, comprising a central medallion of 'Thumbelina' design, depicting Thumbelina riding on the back of a swallow, in bright colours, outline printed in gold. This surrounded by a wide border of 'Firbolgs' design (a variant of 'Firbolgs III' (des Fontaines, 1975)), with a ground of ruby lustre, blackish figures with eyes picked out in green, outline printed in gold. The reverse of the plate decorated with a mother-of-pearl lustre, with a procession of fishes in colours outline printed in gold, and edged with 'Dragon' bead, printed in gold over a blue ground.

Wide shallow bowl, Wedgwood 'Lily Tray' shape 2483. Bone china. Decorated with 'Fairyland' pattern Z5200, comprising a central medallion of 'Thumbelina' design, depicting Thumbelina riding on the back of a swallow, in bright colours, outline printed in gold. Object history
Formerly in the possession of Miss Jean L. Macdougall, of Crieff, Scotland, who bequeathed the bowl to the Museum. The bowl had been in Miss Macdougall's family for many years, and had perhaps previously belonged to her mother.
