The first Winnie-the-Pooh book was written by A A Milne in 1926 and featured his son, Christopher Robin’s own toys. E H Shepherd illustrated the stories and based the bear on his own son’s teddy, Growler. There are now two versions of Pooh, one from the original books and one created by Walt Disney. This bear is known as a Classic Pooh and is based on the original drawings with the addition of the Disney red jacket.

A small unjointed yellow plush teddy bear in a seated position with arms outstretched in front. It wears a short red jacket, velcroed at the front. The nose is black and the eyes are dots of black with black eyebrows above. There is a fabric label sewn into the left back seam onto which is attached two printed card labels.
