The glove puppet Sooty was a star of entertainer Harry Corbett’s live magic shows and first appeared on television in 1955. An early companion was the dog Sweep and they were joined in 1964 by the panda Soo. More characters were later introduced, among them Scampi, Sooty's young cousin.

Beige plush unjointed bear in a standing position with arms outstretched. It is wearing a blue school uniform with red trim - cap, jacket and shorts, with a white shirt and striped tie. The letter S is on the cap and jacket. The paw pads are light brown. The ears, nose and eyes are black. It is filled with polyester beans.
