In front is a balloon back chair and a small round pedestal table with a possible microscope box upon it. Sash window with open shutters on facing wall. Small bow-legged dressing table with oval mirror on top in back right hand corner, in front of which is a rabbit lying on all its legs. Fireplace with rug in front. Pelmet and curtains at either side and mirror above. On the mantel piece is a clock under a glass cover and a peacock feather. A folding easy chair is in the right foreground.

Object history
Given by Leslie Linder (1904-1973) to the National Book League (now the Book Trust) in 1970 as part of a representative selection of Beatrix Potter's work. This selection, comprising 279 drawings and 38 early editions and now known as the Linder Collection, was formerly on long-term loan to the Victoria and Albert Museum between 1989 and 2019 form the charitable trust, The Linder Trust.
