Drawing in pencil of a bedroom interior. The foot of a wooden bedstead is in view in close up in the right hand foreground, the bedpost is surmounted by a large knob. Around the walls of the room are a balloon back chair with buttoned stuffed seat, washstand, door, chest of drawers or commode with five drawers and an oval mirror on top, small table in front of a sash window with open shutters, lace pelmet and curtain pole above, wardrobe with mirror in door. Wooden beam across the ceiling. Viewpoint is from the head of the bed.

Object history
Given by Leslie Linder (1904-1973) to the National Book League (now the Book Trust) in 1970 as part of a representative selection of Beatrix Potter's work. This selection, comprising 279 drawings and 38 early editions and now known as the Linder Collection, was formerly on long-term loan to the Victoria and Albert Museum between 1989 and 2019 form the charitable trust, The Linder Trust.
