This girl's dress was produced in the 1970s by Shamrock of England. It is made from a tpye of polyester called Crimplene and has been designed in a sports-style. The blue fabric features yellow striped patterns along the skirt and around the edges of the neck and sleeve holes.

Blue and yellow sports-style dress for a girl, made by Shamrock of England, 1970s
Physical description
Girl's dress made from blue polyester fabric called Crimplene. The dress has a yellow striped design going diagonally around the skirt, with matching yellow stripes around the neck and sleeve holes. There are two small rings of string attached to the hips, supposedly holding a belt that is no longer with the dress. The dress fastens with a zip located at the back, that runs from the neck to below the waist.

The label notes that the dress is made for a girl approx. 6/7 years old, a height of 45/48", with a chest size of 24/25", and says that the dress itself is a size 24.

This dress was donated by Jackie and Norman Newton who opened a children's clothing boutique in Essex in the early 1970s. The dress was one of the items saved after the shop closed a few years later. The objects donated by the Newtons were often worn by their own children.
