Girl's charcoal grey skirt suit. The jacket is double breasted and flares out slightly towards the bottom. There are eight brown plastic buttons in rows of two. It has a Peter Pan collar. The cuffs are decorated with a stiff, ribbed white material with a scalloped edge. On both cuffs the white material is embroidered in white thread with a picture of a bird standing on a branch. There are two small slit pockets. There are two name tags sewn into the collar, the first long and loose and the second stitched in at the left. These read 'A. Pearce and have been embroidered in blue. There is a seam down the centre of the reverse of the jacket.

The skirt is pleated and fastened to the left on the waistband with brown plastic buttons that are the same as the ones on the jacket but slightly bigger. There are also 3 of the same buttons used to attach two braces of the same charcoal grey material at the back. Another name tag also bearing the writing 'A. Pearce' embroidered in blue. There is some brown staining on the skirt and several small holes.

This skirt is part of larger gift given to the Museum by Daphne Pearce who wore the clothes as a young girl growing up in the Northern suburbs of London. The clothes are all in pristine condition and were worn from the 1950s to 1960s and show a range from baby wear to pre-teen years, approximately 12. This collection typifies the clothing of the period and clothing labels and styles of the middle classes.
