Object history
This box was given to Captain G.H. Allanson from the Maharaoa of Cooch Behar in the 1930s when Capt. Allanson was the Head of the Indian Princes Section for Thomas Cook Limited and given presents for arranging trips for the Maharao. This piece probably dates from the early 19th century.
