This teddy bear was bought in the Paris toy shop in the 1980s by the former director of the Museum of Childhood, Anthony Burton. It is an example of a teddy bear that was designed to engage babies rather than children. It has a hook of rope on the back of the neck to attach it to the ceiling or a mobile above a cot. It has a knitted head and a patchwork body.

Physical description
Teddy bear with a multicoloured check body and a white knitted head with blue eyes and red nose and mouth. There is a small length of rope at the back of the neck for attaching it to a mobile or the ceiling above a cot. At the base of the body is a cord to pull to produce a noise from the internal mechanism
