Physical description
Leaf (cutting) from a French Book of Hours, 15th century. Gothic script. Written in black and red ink on parchment. Colour pigments, gold and ink. 15 lines of text.
Recto : one decorated initial "I" (gold on a blue and red ground with white highlights), three initials "L", "S" and "S" alternately blue with red penwork and gold with black penwork, one ink initial "D" with penwork and a male head; three blue and gold "bouts-de-lignes" (decorative elements used to complete lines of text).
Verso: one initial "S" (gold on a blue and red ground with white highlights), other initials are alternately blue with red penwork and gold with black penwork. Blue and gold bouts-de-lignes.

Mass (Gospel: Luke 11: 27-28, offertorium "felix namque", Sanctus, Agnus dei, Communio "Beata viscera Marie").
