Leaf (cutting) from a French Book of Hours, 15th century. Double-sided. Gothic script. Written in black and red ink on parchment. Colour pigments, gold and ink. 15 lines of text. Verso: Three decorated initials (gold on a blue and red ground with white highlights with branches of red and blue leaves growing from the top and bottom edges) and one blue and gold 'bouts-de-lignes' (decorative elements used to complete lines of text). Recto: Two decorated initials.
