This is an example of a bear used to commemorate a particular event. The Commonwealth Games of 2002 were held in Manchester. The Roman numerals XVII on the bear's foot indicate that this was the 17th Games held.

Physical description

Pale brown nylon plush unjointed teddy bear is in a seated position. The paw pads and inner ears are of a lighter and shorter cut material. The black nose and mouth are stitched and the eyes are black plastic. The stuffing is polyester beans. There are Roman numerals XV11 stitched on the left foot and there is a card tag attached to the left ear. The bear wears a reddish brown t-shirt bearing the lettering and emblem of the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
