Boy's Shorts

These are typically 1970s shorts for a boy, featuring yellow stitching on the pocket and elasticated waistband, and an image of Mr Bump falling over onto a worm in plastic. They were worn by the donor during the first eight years of his life growing up in Mold, North Wales and kept until their donation to the museum.

Brief description
Boy's polyester shorts with an image of 'Mr Bump' on the front. Bought by the donor between 1974 and 1982.
Physical description
Navy polyester shorts with yellow stitching around the waistband and the small pocket on the front of the shorts. There is an image of 'Mr Bump' on the front of the shorts, looking as if he is falling off the top of the pocket, onto a worm, also in plastic. The waistband is elasticated at the back, but not at the front.

These shorts were donated to the museum by the original owner and wearer, Alan Bower. They come from the first eight years of his life, and he kept them until their donation to the museum. These shorts are typical of the late 1970s.
