Object history note

The donor said that the ensemble belonged to his paternal grandparents, who spent the late 1920s and 1930s in Burma. It is possible the clothing was purchased there.

Tex, China, 20th century. Lounge pyjama ensemble consisting of blue silk top, jacket and a pair of trousers, embroidered with Chinese landscape motifs in silk.
