| Object history | Bought for £50 from Sir M. D. Wyatt RP 3485/75 “Spain, I believe. Early 17th century. Very good and genuine rather, I think, of Cordovan work than Italian…the work in relief is not quite as sharp as in good French specimens of an earlier period, and the incisions not of as great dexterity as in the best style of Italian work in the museum. I should recommend £50 to be offered… the specimen is unusually good” Sir M. D. Wyatt (£75 was asked) |
