Japanese silk jacket, worn by the donor, Mrs Clemow. Mrs Clemow received the jacket from her aunt, who worked in Kobe (Japan), during the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Physical description | Silk children's jacket, made in Japan. The jacket is cream in colour, with bird designs sewn onto the jacket (back and front). The birds are white and black with an orange head. The jacket has a finer silk edge, which is sewn around the outside of the jacket. There are also ties at either side of the jacket. Inside, there is a finer silk cream lining. |
