Place of origin |
Merete Rasmussen's 'Red Twisted Form' is an immediately striking work by virtue of its bold red surface and ambitious scale. Common to many of her sculptures is the idea of the Mobius strip, a three-dimensional form that has a continuous surface, with one connected edge running throughout the whole form.

‘Red Twisted Form’
2012
The even matt surface of Merete Rasmussen’s
sculptures, each a single intense colour, allows the
complexity of their forms to be revealed. Like many
of her works, ‘Red Twisted Form’ explores the
possibilities of the Möbius strip, a three-dimensional
form with a single surface and one continuous
edge that runs throughout the whole figure.
