Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Sven Palmqvist first had the idea about producing a series of bowls using a new technique involving a rotating mould in 1934. In 1943 the first tests were caried out using a hand-driven spinning machine, which spun the glass into shape. The series first launched under the name 'Fuga' in 1954 and it remained in production at Orrefors, unchanged, until 1973. The Fuga series was awarded a Grand prix at the Milan Triennial of 1957.
