This garment is part of a range of childrenswear from the 1970s.
These clothes were all dead stock from a childrenswear shop which shut down around the end of the 1970s. Many of the clothes were made in the far east and were imported for sale in the UK. All the garments are unworn, and many retain the brand tags and labels they were initially sold with and give us a valuable snapshot of the styles and fashions that were available to both girls and boys of different ages during this period.

| Physical description | Long sleeved shirt with a deep pointed and stiffened collar. The shirt fastens at the cuff (also stiffened) with a pearlescent white plastic button on each and down the front of the shirt with a 6 further buttons. The fabric has a repeating print of a baseball game being played. it is printed using black outlines and muted brown, pink and yellow. |

| Object history | This shirt, along with numbers B.220-2011 to B.239-2011, are all from the same batch of dead shop stock from a childrenswear shop that shut down in the late 1970s. As a result all of the items in this lot are in mint condition, many still have their shop labels attached. All items were purchased via a house clearance company. |
