Koblin specialises in taking unreadable computational data and making visualisations with it. Flight Patterns is a record of aeroplane journeys across North America over a 24-hour period. He sourced data from the Federal Aviation Administration on 205,000 flights on 12 August 2008. Each one of the tiny colourful threads streaming across the wall represents hundreds of people, flights and cargo as they travel across the airspace of the United States. (08/12/2009)
