Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The Danish jeweller Evald Nielsen was a contemporary of Georg Jensen and like him helped to define the Danish style known as 'skønvirke' or 'aesthetic work'. Although influenced by both Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts Movement this style is quite distinct - characerised by rounded organic forms which are highly stylised but often inspired by plants, and made of hand-beaten silver set with cabochon stones.
