This photograph is from a collection of 19th and early 20th century photographs of the Alhambra, Granada, Spain. The photographs depict topographical and architectural views of buildings and landscapes of the Alhambra. The earliest images appear to date from the 1850s or 1860s, and the set includes good examples of albumen contact prints. As early representations of the Alhambra they are an important source for architectural historians and buildings conservators as well as being good examples of architectural record photography.
