This flask was purchased for £66 16s from the Great Exhibition, London, 1851, at which François-Désiré Froment-Meurice was awarded a Council Medal. The flask bears the mark of Jules Wièse, whose association with Froment-Meurice began when he entered his workshop in 1839.
