‘Ghost IV’
2007
‘Ghost IV’ looks like a natural form, but a closer
look reveals it to be a column of book edges. Like
many of Sara Radstone’s works, it uses the form
of the book to convey the suggestion of memory
and history. More specifically, it is part of a series
that – as the title suggests – explores absence and
loss by evoking the idea of ghosts within texts.
Made in London
Stoneware, hand-built from press-moulded slabs,
painted with slip and dark stain
Museum no. C.89:1, 2-2011
