This uniface bronze medal entitled 'Stream Trees' is made by Ron Dutton (born 1935) in Britain in 1977.
Ron Dutton started making medals in 1974 when, he says, it 'became a focus of expression that has offered stimulating and challenging opportunities I am grateful to have found' (cit. the artist's website). His principal source of inspiration is the British landscape in which he spends hours walking, often sculpting on the spot. With 'Stream Trees' (1977) he captured the scene in a slab of wax before giving it permanent form in bronze, with a subtle play of textures and a golden finish.
