Brief description | Jacket and skirt, silk, Armani, Italy, 1992-3 |
Physical description | Cream silk jacket and skirt suit. |
Gallery label | Reversing the norm, Jill acquired the Armani suit to 'accessorise' the hat, which was specially commissioned from the then new millinery talent Philip Treacy. When he suggested the use of this fine plastic filament Jill was concerned about its durability. He allayed her fears by advising that not only would it withstand being tied to an exhaust pipe and driven up to Scotland, it could also be washed! The elegant silk suit typifies Armani's minimalist approach to design.(1998) |
