Howling

Giclée Print
2010 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This print is part of a series of film stills from ‘Nowhere Near Here’, a stop motion animation film by Pahnl. The artist used a combination of light with stencil and long exposure photography to tell the story of a dog running through the city at night. Pahnl spent over 300 hours and cut more than 200 stencils in the making of ‘Nowhere Near Here’. He designed and cut stencils for each frame of movement. These were then photographed in the streets around Oxford whilst a light was flashed through them. The result is an image of the stencil design having been burnt into the scene.
