Temora

Portfolio
2010 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Geoff MacEwan (b. 1943) studied at Goldsmith's and is a noted painter and printmaker. Temora is a pleasing work in which the facsimile text is as much an image as the abstract etched illustrations. The National Art Library holds several editions of Macpherson's 'Poems of Ossian' so this portfolio compliments the historic editions. MacEwan intended Temora as a tribute to 'Ossian' and it is a response to the appetite for the heroic and the sublime to which Macpherson contributed.
