Collinot and his collaborator, Adalbert de Beaumont, founded their faience factory in 1863, when their 'Persian faience' attracted attention at the Union Central exhibition. This bottle resembles one illustrated in the Recueil de dessins pour l'art et l'industrie (Paris, 1859) as "bouteille pour le vin de Chypre enfermée sous une grille en or Venise", but its modelled elements have been omitted. The form is based on Urbino maiolica pilgrim bottles of about 1550.(1987-2006)

This bottle resembles one illustrated in the Recueil de dessins pour l'art et l'industrie (Paris, 1859) as "bouteille pour le vin de Chypre enfermée sous une grille en or Venise", but its modelled elements have been omitted. The form is based on Urbino maiolica pilgrim bottles of about 1550.
