This rare image represents the head of one of the early kings of Tibet (7th to mid 9th century) . It may depict Srongtsen Gampo or Trisong Detsan, who were both instrumental in bringing Buddhism to Tibet in the 7th and 8th centuries respectively. The king here wears the distinctive tall turban of the Yarlung Dynasty monarchs.
