Place of origin |
'Wandern mit "Kraft durch Freude"', Nazi propaganda poster promoting health and fitness. The poster depicts a forest scene in which a group of young people are hiking, lead by a young man and woman. The young man wears brown trousers with braces, and a white shirt, and is strumming a guitar. The young woman wears a red dress with a green belt, and ankle socks, and carries a back-pack. At the bottom of the poster is a shaded area representing the forest floor, and upon this area are the words, 'Wandern', in large yellow letters, and 'mit "kraft durch freude", in smaller green letters (trans. 'Move with "strength by joy"'). Next to this message is the Nazi party symbol, a swastika, within a symbol that resembles and suggests a larger, curved swastika-like form. This is also printed in a pale green on the darker green background.
