Fan case of embroidered silk satin for a civil Mandarin of the ninth rank. One side of the case is pink satin, embroidered in coloured silks with flowering branches in pekinese stitch. The other side is blue satin embroidered with flowers, fruits, birds and insects. The case has a black satin base and is edged with pale green silk in a close herringbone stitch. It has been stiffened and is lined with green silk. Through the top is a dark green threaded braid, which has been embroidered with white, blue and purple stripes and onto which have been threaded two red glass beads.
