Evert Nijland (born 1971) is a Dutch jeweller based in Amsterdam. This necklace is part of a series of necklaces entitled 'Garlands' (in Dutch 'Guirlandes') which evoke the decorative garlands of architectural ornament. Historicist imagery and references are an important element of his work but always explored from a modern and original perspective and with an unexpected combination of materials.

'Garlands', necklace of string hung with white porcelain pendants, designed and made by Evert Nijland in 2004.
Physical description
Rope necklace hung with eleven evenly-spaced white egg-shaped porcelain pendants. The pendants have moulded decoration of foliage and flowers and narrow silver collars, and are interspersed with a tangle of string loops. The necklace fastens with a silver hook and loop at the back.
