Object history note

Part of a set of tapes T.690 to 698-1997 that came into the Museum in 1935, associated with a collection of bills dating from 1665 to 1699 of William, 5th Earl and 1st Duke of Bedford. These bills were given to John Nevinson, who passed them to the National Art Library, at which point their ties were removed. Although some of the ties could date from the 18th century, the probability is that they are contemporary with the bills.
