The Exhibition of Industrial Power in Glasgow was organised by the Scottish Committee of the Festival Council to showcase British inventiveness and its global impact. The chief architect of the exhibition was Basil Spence, who recruited leading designers to interpret the themes of power, engineering and the atom-driven future. Mount's design combines the red, white and blue colour-scheme seen throughout the Festival with a dramatic motif of lightning.
