Panel of silk tapestry (kesi) with silk and gold thread. Made up of three large and two small panels bordered and joined together by strips of brocade of dark blue silk and gold thread with a pattern of dragon roundels and symbols, bound with black silk. Backed by dark-blue linen.

The top panel shows a sparrow on a branch of prunus blossom against a pale buff-coloured background. The small panel below has clouds on a red ground.

In the central panel a soldier on horseback is rushing forward with a lance against a man on foot that advances with two swords. This scene has an orange-coloured background. The small panel beneath shows clouds on a red ground.

In the bottom panel a blue and white vase containing peonies, an incense burner and a scroll are shown on a blue background.
