Panel of tapestry woven silk (kesi) lined with cotton. Consists of one small and two large panels of woven silk bordered and joined together by strips of black satin bound with white cotton, and lined with buff cotton.

The top panel has a red vase containing a branch of Magnolia, a blue dish on a stand containing a Buddha's hand citron, and a scroll, on a turquoise ground.

The small central panel has a lake with one large and three small pavilions, on a gold coloured background.

The bottom panel has a landscape in blue and buff on an orange ground. In the foreground sage is seated on the ground reading a book which is on a rock beside him. In the middle distance is a man carrying a swan under his arm. Two more swans are swimming in the lake in the background.
