Wedding gown. Originally designed and presented as a strapless A-line gown with a draped bodice and triple-tiered skirt with ruffled organza trim. The dress is made from tissue organza and satin-faced organza mounted on a lining and canvas interlining. A wide band of woven fabric forms the Empire waistline and there is a organza & tulle floral applique to the back of the waist. The dress fastens down the back with a row of white satin covered buttons. The design, which was worn on the catwalk, was modified by the atelier for the wedding with organza cap sleeves and shoulder straps

Object history
Worn by Katie Bella Turner on the occasion of her marriage to Andrew Robert Hayward on Sunday 26 August, 2007, at the Old Field Club, Setauket, New York. The dress was originally presented at a Vera Wang catwalk show, and slightly modified (by the addition of shoulder straps and draped organza cap-sleeves) for the bride.
