Costume drawing by Isaac Pocock (1782-1835) for his own play, Cavaliers and Roundheads, which was staged at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in October 1835, after its author's death. The play was an adaptation of Walter Scott's novel Old Mortality, set in late 17th century Scotland. Pocock was an artist as well as a playwright and would occasionally provide watercolour sketches to show his ideas for costumes and scenery.
