Physical description
Carpet, knotted in woollen pile on cotton warp. The field has a pattern of scrolling stems and blossoms on a yellow ground. All round runs a narrow border with a fret pattern.
Warp 2-ply white cotton: 11 to an inch, Weft 2-fold white wool, 2 shoots after each row of knots. Knots of selina wool, 4 to an inch of warp, 21 to the square inch. Selvedge: a pair of extra warp-threads is woven on to the outer two warp-threads with white cotton.
Colours: yellow, green, brick-red, black, light red, light purple, blue and white. The black has perished to a great extent, all colours but blue faded.
