Gallery label
This piece has long been thought to be 16th century
Production
Either 1675-1725 or 1870-1900; Cf. identical piece in Museo Vetrario, Murano (Mille Anni nr. 156) Analysed J. Henderson composition matches late-19th-century pieces. However, a piece in the Kungstgewerbemuseum in Zurich, (Sammlungskatalog 4, Zurich 1969, p. 79) came to that museum from the Compagnia Venezia, Murano, attributed to 1887 (inv. 3526) looks much more crude than our piece.
