Evening Dress

1970 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Friends Janet Lyle and Maggie Keswick opened their boutique in South Kensington, London, in 1965. Their clothes were characterised by the use of quality fabrics and trimmings, and a great sense of glamour and fun. This two-piece outfit combines a typically bright, modern print with a traditional broderie anglaise, completely in tune with the revival of romantic styles, reinterpreted for the 1970s.
