WARP: white wool; Z2S; 12 threads to the inch (47 per dm).
WEFT: brown wool; z spun, unplied with 2 parallel threads to each shoot and 2 shoots after each row of knots; 12 knots to the inch (48 per dm).
PILE: wool and silk; 11 colours: dark red, red, light red, orange (silk), yellow, dark green, dark blue, blue, purple (silk), black, white; asymmetrical knot open to the right and tied around 2 threads; 72 knots per sq. inch (1128 per sq. dm).
SIDE FINISH: both sides have 3 cords overcast in dark brown with dark red on the lower left and dark red and brown on the lower right.
END FINISH: lower end is missing. Upper end is missing but with 2 cms plain weave with dark red weft.
DESIGN: field: dark red ground with dark blue stems forming a grid on which are large rosettes, small blossoms and stars. Some blossom petals are in silk.
Main border: dark red and dark blue chequered ground with multi-coloured rosettes alternating with palmettes and eight-pointed stars, parts of which are in silk; the two motifs are separated by dark red and blue or dark red and green serrated leaves.
Inner and outer borders are composed of small blocks in three colours separated by a white flowrhead.
Elem: a dark red ground with three bands of 23 alternately blue and light blue four-pointed stars below which is a band of a stylised flowerhead of five segments; above is a band of 18 stylised floral sprigs in dark blue and light blue. Dark red undecorated pile forms an outer band on both sides.
Upper bands: two with dark red ground with diagonal, coloured blocks, some in silk. There is a final narrow band of plain dark green pile.
