WARP: white wool; Z2S; 22 threads to the inch (84 per dm).

WEFT: light brown wool; Z spun, unplied with 2 parallel threads per shoot and 2 shoots after each row of knots; 22 knots to the inch (82 per dm).

PILE: wool; 6 colours: red, light red, green, dark blue, brown, cream; asymmetrical knot, open to the right (but there are some random jufti knots) and tied around 2 warp threads; 242 knots to the sq. inch (3444 per sq. dm).

SIDE FINISH: lower: missing. Upper: cut

DESIGN: field: red ground with three bands, each of four guls quartered by a dark blue vertical and horizontal line that extends through the field. The centre of each gul has a red cross; beyond it a quartered polygon in red with green or dark blue; each quarter contains an angular trefoil. The outer part of the gul is also quartered but always in light red and cream, each quarter containing three red trefoils. There are two and one half bands of secondary motifs, each with four and part of a fifth to each band; the main vertical bar is doubly horned at either end and contains many dark blue or green diamonds filled with florets. The hooked crossbar contains two chevrons on both sides and on the fins.

Main border (only at the lower end): red ground with a band of nine guls of different colours, each containing a cross horned at each point and each bristling with small triangles. Between each gul is a pair of comb motifs (the upper ones have five prongs and the lower, four).

Inner and outer border (lower and right only): a red ground with a double-hook motif in all the colours, divided and filled by tiny white florets.
