Physical description | A squarish palampore (wall-hanging or bed-cover) of painted and dyed cotton (chintz). The field has the coat-of-arms of the city of Amsterdam in the centre, and again in the four corners. The rest of the field is filled with stylised flowers and leaves, some showing the influence of European 'bizarre' silks. The border has a repeated design of floral sprays. |
