"History about to repeat itself. . . STS-2" Space Shuttle poster. Photographic image of the Space Shuttle Columbia attached to its rocket launcher, in the process of taking off. Superimposed directly over the lower part of the image is the masthead and text from 'The Washington Post', dated Monday April 13, 1981. The newspaper reports the first flight of the Space Shuttle Columbia, the first US manned space flight since the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project in July 1975, which lasted from 12 to 14 April 1981. Along the top of the poster, in white capitalised sans-serif letters are the words, 'HISTORY ABOUT TO REPEAT ITSELF'. In the bottom left corner of the poster, in black letters, is 'STS-2', the name of the second space shuttle mission, which launched 12 November 1981, landing 14 November 1981.
