Martin Bodilsen Kaldahl (born 1954) ‘Dazzle Vessel 3’ 2003 Stripes hold a particular fascination for Martin Bodilsen Kaldahl. He has described them as ‘activating the relationship between form and surface’. They can both divide or unify a form. Here they cause confusion. As the title of the work suggests, these stripes are inspired by the dazzle patterns used as camouflage on warships.
