Perfume Test Card

ca . 1996 (printed)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Many well-known designers extend the reach of their brands with ranges of lifestyle products such as perfumery and cosmetics. Perfume test cards - which are sprayed with a sample for customers to take away - are often used by retailers as a promotional tool. This one advertises Elysium, a fragrance by French cosmetics company Clarins. The test card has an organic shape reminiscent of a flower petal or leaf. The central fold running along the card as well as the vivid pink and pale green colouring support the suggestion of nature and natural beauty.
