Epergne, silver, parcel-gilt, stainless steel and ceramic, London hallmarks for 1998, mark of David Clarke
Physical description
Epergne, silver consisting of a series of `U' shaped silver strips, connected by lateral strips of silver with a pin at each end. The pieces of `fruit', a combination of aplles and pears are made of ceramic and realistically painted. Each piece of `fruit' has a bow of silver-gilt wire which hooks on to a stainless steel strut in the form of an arc, upturned at one end and which is threaded through the top of the `U' shaped sections.
