Physical description | Butter or barley flour pot and cover of hammered sheet brass, with vertical reinforcing bands of ribbed brass. The pail is cylindrical in shape, slightly larger at the bottom than at the mouth. It has a flat circular cover, with a central boss nad lifting ring. On one side of the cover is a hinged clasp for fastening the lid to two eyes on the rim of the vessel. On each side of the body there are two horizontal loops, which the leather carrying strap is passed through. The four vertical and three horizontal reinforcing bands coffer the surface. |
